Built by
Dockside WeldingWe designed and custom-fabricated a heavy-duty aluminum tripod hoist to stand up and drive dock piles on frozen lake construction sites. When building docks off winter ice, our 1/2-inch wall steel piles weigh 25 lbs per foot and require serious lifting power to erect safely. We worked with an engineer on tube sizing and fabricated a 24-foot tall, pin-together aluminum tripod rated for 1,500 to 2,000 lbs. It features a 120V Warn winch powered by our mobile welder, plus welded handles on the legs for quick repositioning across the jobsite.

Pros and cons to the winter and summer seasons. The nice part about the winter is layout is far easier, and you can walk around the whole jobsite.

Smart. Working on the ice like that looks hard and kind of fun at the same time.
