Dockside WeldingWe engineered and constructed this heavy-duty steel helicopter pad and waterfront dock designed to withstand aircraft landings and severe winter ice. Unlike a standard swim dock, this structure is built with heavy structural steel framing and piles welded on-site over frozen water. The landing area in the center features thick Western red cedar planking for load support, framed with durable Kayu hardwood decking around the perimeter. A walkway connects the hexagonal helipad directly to the shoreline.

Ya I can imagine it needed some serious extra support. Who did the engineering?

I think two months. Between all the extra welding work, the extra work with the decking and adding the lading lights it look longer than a standard dock this size.

This is so cool! How long did this take?

The reason for the random coloured sleepers, is the product we used was discontinued and that’s all we could get our hands on. Because Kayu lasts so long, the sleeper must last longer. In this case we use a composite lumber.
