Custom Retractable Drop Stair Dock for River Access

We designed and built this custom drop stair dock to solve steep water access challenges caused by a 15-foot seasonal river fluctuation. Low season makes reaching the water along the rocky granite shoreline difficult, so we engineered an adjustable wooden staircase and dock platform system. The stairs are raised with a winch for high-water season, secured with safety chains, and lowered during low water for easy river access. Built to withstand extreme conditions, the structure proved its durability when spring thaw waters rose right to platform level against raging river currents.
