01 · ABOUT THIS PROJECT

We completed a multi-phase historic Corinthian cornice restoration on the c.1908 Georgian Revival Manning House in Manchester, NH. Executed to National Park Service preservation standards, Phase 1 involved repairing rotted rafter tails, installing structural blocking for the slate and copper team, and milling new soffits and fascia on site. Phase 2 required rebuilding eight cornice sections from the bottom up. In an on-site pop-up shop, I reproduced modillions, drafted Grecian Cyma Reversa caps verified against Asher Benjamin's 1827 compendium, and hand-stuck over 170 linear feet of moulding using traditional hollows and rounds. I also crafted a custom mahogany L-CHIP grant plaque frame.
