Yes. Construction labourer and helper roles are the standard entry point and don’t require prior experience or a trade certificate — the median wage is about $27 an hour, and plenty of postings on Projekt Network are marked “no experience.”
Most people use that as a way in, then either work up on the tools or register as an apprentice. If you go the apprenticeship route there’s real money behind it: registered apprentices in Red Seal trades can borrow up to $4,000 per training period through the Canada Apprentice Loan, claim a $600 Ontario Tools Grant after Level 1, and may qualify for EI while attending full-time in-class training.
