01 · ABOUT THIS PROJECT

I completed custom framing, drywall installation, and taping to create a clean angled bulkhead concealing ductwork above a staircase. To properly box in the exposed HVAC ducts and piping running across the ceiling opening, I built a custom timber frame shaped to maintain maximum headroom and match the surrounding angles. After framing, I installed drywall precisely around the angles and applied taping, mudding, and finishing coats to blend the soffit seamlessly into the adjacent walls and ceiling, leaving a smooth surface ready for paint.
