Six Shooter Head Office

The owners of Six Shooter records in Toronto asked us to build their new head office in Toronto. Moving from a really old building in downtown Toronto with lots of character to a fairly typical "vanilla shell" industrial condo, they wanted to capture a feeling for the new space that respected the herstory of their previous space and business. Culture and vibe were a strong influence of the design theme. We gutted just about everything and left some of the walls where they still had value. Working with the client, their architect and interior designer during the pandemic, we were able to complete the project in about six months. The layout was decided on quickly and details came in as we progressed through the framing. We combined metal framing with wood for the pocket doors and added blocking for the baseboards to nail into. Plaster crown moulding and deep, moody colours created the need for the drywall to be finished to stage 4 in several areas while wall paper provided some grace in others. Part of the requirement was a stage area where musicians cold perform, audition and they could host functions. The space continues to serve their business and is a positive, interesting work environment for their team and colleagues.

Fresco Harmony / Plaster Crown Moulding Repair

Two different things but wanted to submit both. First is Fresco Harmony a drywall compound colour additive. This was my creation mixing two colours together finishing with a gold sealer. I also did my backsplash at my house with the same look. The sealer repels water. You can also get fresco harmony in any Sherwin Williams colour and Nick the creator and owner of Fresco has a lot of colours ready to go to pick from. Second is a plaster crown moulding water damage repair. I got creative and cut a yellow plastic knife to the profile of the crown moulding and it worked really well to shape and repair the damage section. I hope if anything this entry was educational for some people 🙌🤘

ManuLife Head Office 200 Bloor

Proud to showcase one of MAXAN Interior Systems' most intricate drywall ceiling installations at Manulife's flagship head office. This custom coffered ceiling was built using CertainTeed drywall supplied by YVON Building Supply, delivering the strength, consistency, and finish quality required for a project of this caliber. Behind the seamless appearance are over 120 concealed access panels, each meticulously integrated, taped, and edged to disappear into the ceiling while maintaining full serviceability. The result is a clean architectural finish that combines complex engineering with exceptional craftsmanship. We're honoured that Manulife trusted MAXAN to deliver this signature feature in their flagship location at 200 Bloor Street East, demonstrating what's possible when premium materials are paired with skilled execution.
