ROLE SUMMARY Our Project Managers are responsible for overall technical management for a variety of new build and renovation projects as assigned to ensure the site functions to optimal efficiency through the duration of the projects. This includes reviewing all plans and specifications to ensure operations are aligned effectively and communicating throughout the duration of the project to all parties involved. To be successful in this role the individual would need to be a team player who is able to work collaboratively and drive the project through to completion on time and on budget. Below are some responsibilities you would fulfill on our team: • Management of construction projects for the full duration of a build or renovation, in addition to managing the team involved • Review and understand project plans and specifications from the onset • Liaise with sub-trades and Construction Managers to ensure project requirements are being met consistently • Manage the project budget and financials including invoice approvals, change orders, purchase orders and budget forecasting • Work with the Construction Managers to build out effective schedules and track appropriately to ensure they are followed • Manage build selections to ensure all relevant information is available in a timely manner and orders are placed with lead times considered • Effectively communicate with all involved parties both internal and external (architects, sub-trades & clients) • Attend regular weekly meetings with Leadership and Construction Managers to ensure the project is on track • Visit project sites as needed to ensure project quality is maintained and nothing is missed • Assess, develop, and maintain project details including scope development, sub-trade contracts and schedules, shop drawing reviews, tracking of proposed changes, change orders, etc. • Take and distribute meeting minutes and other communication reports as required. • Resolve technical challenges in coordination with architects, engineers, construction team, and other contract admin paperwork • Use appropriate tools to work with the team to execute design intent, resolve technical challenges, ensure quality control and meet the objectives of our clients • Prepare contract documents, and specifications based on our industry and company standards • Produce Performance Specification documents using industry standard formats • Work with the team to ensure that projects stay on track, time and budget. • Liaise with suppliers to ensure orders are placed on time and assist with scheduling subtrades SKILLS FOR SUCCESS Ability to interpret construction drawings Must have experience with a Project Management software, Smartsheet is an asset Able to manage multiple projects in varying phases Ability to build and maintain vender and sub-trade relationships Identify and mitigate project risks Understanding of Ontario and National Building codes as well as the Ontario Fire Code Present a professional work appearance and a positive attitude Excellent self-starter that works well independently and with a team Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to build strong rapport with clients QUALIFICATIONS 2-5+ years’ of experience in project management within the construction industry Preference given to those with residential custom home experience Bachelor’s Degree and PMP certification is an asset however not required As a rapidly growing technology forward construction firm with a family atmosphere, youthful energy, and a passion for what we do, we are looking for a talented addition to our team who consistently exceeds expectations and aligns with our mission.
