01 · ABOUT THIS PROJECT

I handcrafted this custom walnut and cherry storage bench in Toronto, ON during the Skills Canada National Competition, earning a gold medal. The project highlights precision machining and intricate hand joinery, featuring hidden mortise and tenon joints, through dowels, and two half-blind dovetails. Crafted from solid walnut, cherry, and cherry veneer in 10.5 hours, the finished piece combines an ergonomic curved frame with an integrated lift-top storage compartment.
