Built by Kelsey Annan with 4 credited collaborators
We completed community infrastructure upgrades at Camp Ak-O-Mak in Northern Ontario, building a new cabin deck, treatment facility, and sports gear. Organized through the Women in Red Seal Skilled Trades project, students and tradeswomen collaborated with industry partners to replace an aging cabin deck within a tight 10-hour deadline. The multi-trade build also featured framing a heated water treatment facility with custom roof trusses, welding 16-foot soccer net frames, assembling a covered archery shelter, and outfitting camp grounds to support campers safely.

It was such an incredible learning experience being part of the Pump House Team at camp Ak-O-Mak. Sarah and Heather did great as leaders – making alterations on fly and being patient with us electricians that aren't used to carpentry work. Mad respect to them for also staying back an extra day to make more progress on the build while majority us had to leave. And Kelsey!! The fairy on wheels coming to the rescue with the tools we need. Thank you for being friendly and encouraging throughout the whole weekend. Super fun meeting new people and gaining more experiences :)

This is so cool thanks for sharing Kelsey!!

What a wonderful way to learn, grow and make connections. Well done!

What a fantastic 💜weekend it was. Our project leads Sarah and Heather were amazing. And my favourite thing was encouraging the tradeswomen to keep trying new skills and tools out.
shoutout to christine and natasha from the archery shelter project!! they both showed amazing leadership throughout the project and were always there to help, guide everyone, and keep things moving. they definitely made a huge impact on our team
