The program is about 7,200 hours: 6,480 hours on the job and 720 hours of in-school training across three levels. You start by finding a sponsor, signing a training agreement and registering it with Skilled Trades Ontario. When your hours and levels are done you write the certifying exam, and passing it earns you a Certificate of Qualification. General Carpenter is a Red Seal trade, so you can add the Red Seal endorsement and work in any province.
