Blue Genie is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented **Smart Home Automation Technician Assistant** to join our team working on custom residential projects across the GTA. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who is passionate about technology, enjoys working with their hands, and wants to build a career in smart home integration, networking, audio/video, lighting control, and low-voltage systems. The role involves assisting with the installation and setup of: * Smart home automation systems * Networking and Wi-Fi equipment * Security cameras and alarm systems * Distributed audio and home theatre systems * Lighting control and low-voltage wiring * Equipment racks and structured wiring infrastructure What We’re Looking For * Interest in smart home technology and residential construction * Basic experience with speakers, networking, cameras, or low-voltage systems * Comfortable using power tools and ladders safely * Familiarity with residential construction environments and job site etiquette * Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn * Organized, reliable, and professional attitude * Ability to work well independently and as part of a team Nice to Have * Experience with UniFi, Sonos, Lutron, Control4, Home Assistant, or similar systems * Basic networking knowledge * Experience pulling wire or working on construction sites * Valid driver’s license and access to transportation What We Offer * Hands-on training in high-end residential technology systems * Exposure to advanced smart home projects * Opportunity for long-term growth within the company * Collaborative and design-focused work environment Blue Genie is committed to maintaining a professional, respectful, and inclusive workplace.
