Job Description

Carpentry Foreman oversees and leads all carpentry-related aspects of landscape construction projects. This role involves supervising crews, ensuring high-quality workmanship, maintaining project timelines, and coordinating with project managers, subcontractors, and clients. The ideal candidate is skilled in exterior carpentry, knowledgeable in landscaping construction practices, and capable of leading teams on complex residential or commercial projects. Key Responsibilities Project Leadership & Supervision - Lead and manage a team of carpenters and laborers on landscape construction sites. - Provide daily direction, task assignment, and quality control. - Read, interpret, and implement construction plans and specifications. - Coordinate with Project Managers to schedule tasks and manage materials. Carpentry & Construction Duties - Build and install outdoor structures including decks, pergolas, fences, retaining walls, privacy screens, and gazebos. - Install landscape carpentry elements such as benches, planters, and framing for outdoor kitchens or sheds. - Ensure all work meets specifications and building codes. - Maintain and operate tools and machinery safely. Quality Control & Site Management - Conduct site inspections for accuracy and quality. - Maintain a clean, safe, and organized job site. - Resolve construction challenges proactively. - Oversee material handling and inventory. Safety & Compliance - Enforce safety protocols and PPE requirements. - Conduct daily toolbox talks. - Ensure compliance with building codes and regulations. Communication & Reporting - Provide regular updates to management. - Complete daily logs, timesheets, and site reports. - Communicate professionally with clients and subcontractors. Qualifications & Skills Required - 5+ years of carpentry experience. - 2+ years of supervisory experience. - Strong knowledge of framing and exterior carpentry. - Ability to read blueprints and construction documents. - Valid driver’s license. - Strong leadership and problem-solving skills. - Ability to work outdoors year-round.
