Position Summary: The Junior Account Manager (1-Year Contract) is responsible for supporting daily branch operations by assisting customers with product selection, processing sales and special orders, coordinating deliveries, and maintaining branch appearance standards. The Junior Account Manager is also responsible for providing World Class Customer Service by developing product knowledge, supporting customer project needs, and working collaboratively with the Branch team to achieve business objectives, while participating in ongoing training and development opportunities. Customer Service: • Follows Turkstra's approach to World Class Customer Service, which includes: o Greets and advises customers by providing useful knowledge of products and services; utilizes resources where required. o Assists customers in making the best selections for their specified project. o Seeks to earn 100% of the customer's business (100% wallet share). • Seeks to earn a referral from every customer. • Develops and maintains conflict resolution skills, effectively de-escalates customer issues. – Level 4 Daily Operations: • Follows proper sales procedures and proper scheduling of delivery services. • Responsible for maintaining branch appearance according to branch standards guidelines. • Effectively processes special orders. Creates the proper purchase order in the appropriate branch, including following up with vendors for order confirmations. – Level 2 Business Objectives: • Works together with the Branch team to achieve key performance indicators (KPIs). • Promotes the Turkstra Mill, Truss and Panel Plant, Lawson Lumber, and Turkstra Design Centre as part of our complete company offering. • Supports the Turkstra Build-It-Better program. • Participates in branch and/or company lean projects. – Level 2 • Lead generation and follow through on referrals as provided to us by current customers; framers, architects, designers, etc. – Level 2 Construction Material Quoting and Estimating: • Analyzes blueprints and preliminary drawings. – Level 3 • Completes quality take-offs for all products required, including lumber, windows, EWP, Trusses, Trim and Doors, Siding, etc. – Level 4 • Completes basic Truss designs from price book, as required. – Level 4 Customer Relationship Management: • Keeps customers updated regarding promotions, policy changes, and other pertinent business information. • Nurtures and sustains customer relationships. • Updates account information in company ERP and CRM (where required). – Level 3 • Assists with the preparation of annual sales forecasts with local team. – Level 3 • Maintains a comprehensive account plan for assigned customers. – Level 4 Managing Pricing and Competitive Solutions: • Follows Turkstra’s Sales Process. – Level 3 • Understands and uses product category pricing strategy appropriately to win projects. – Level 3 • Fills out proper pricing nomination forms. – Level 3 • Provides copies of competitive quotes market info to Sales and Purchasing teams (1 per quarter). - Level 3 • Receives approval before going outside of pricing parameters. - Level 4 • Exercises proper judgement to maximize GM within pricing parameters. - Level 4 • Provides copies of competitive analysis of local competitor (1 per quarter). - Level 4 Training and Development: • Completes all LMS course assignments within the assigned timeframe. • Completes level 1 K8 learning path and effectively demonstrates knowledge and comprehension. • Completes level 1 retail sales learning path and effectively demonstrate knowledge and comprehension. • Completes level 2 K8 learning path and effectively demonstrate knowledge and comprehension. - Level 2 • Completes level 2 retail sales learning path and effectively demonstrate knowledge and comprehension (total of 6 courses completed). - Level 2 • Completes BIB certifications in Deck/Fence, Shed/Garage, Windows/Doors, and Trim & Doors. - Level 2 • Understands and works towards proficiency in all sales criteria. Understands & follows all role-specific SOPs. - Level 3 • Completes the sales onboarding 30 60 90 plan and Sandler Sales Training Bootcamp. - Level 3 • Attends regular Sales Meetings and training classes. - Level 4 Additional Duties: • Responsible for any and all other duties as may be required from time to time in accordance with proper training and certification requirements. • Back up for the local Account Manager or Senior Account Manager with Accounts Receivable and CRM. - Level 4 Qualifications Education/Experience Requirements: • Post-secondary education in Construction Estimating, Construction Engineering Technology, Architectural Technology, Building Renovation, Construction Management, or related field is required. • Previous experience in customer service, retail sales, construction materials, or the building supply industry is considered an asset. • Experience in the construction industry is considered an asset. Abilities/Skill Requirements: • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings. • Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build positive customer relationships. • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment. • Customer focused. • Willingness to participate in ongoing training and development. • Positive attitude with a strong desire to learn and grow within the business. Physical Requirements: • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time. • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. • Ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull products and materials up to 50 lbs. • Ability to travel between branches and to job sites as required.
