Built by
Kelsey AnnanWorking with a summer camp to create a designated archery area. Site visit to review current space and what is required in the upgrade. Consultation with Sheridan College year 4 architecture students to review the proposal and requirements. Three concept drawings were reviewed with the Camp. The selected design was sent back to the architecture students to create detailed build plans and a bill of material. Plans were reviewed with the lead builder and adjusted based on their best practices recommendations as a carpenter. Material sourcing and timeline required changing to a prefabricated kit vs custom bending materials for the net system. Working with a Canadian company to source an outdoor storage frame and exclude the PVC cover, design changes based on in stock shelter options. Reviewing changes with the camp for approval, and working with the supplier on in stock items to ship to Northern Ontario before June 25th. Next steps are fabricating the archery targets and mounting frame, organizing volunteers for the one day build onsite on June 26th. All work is done as a volunteer opportunity to give back to the community, college skilled trade students and architecture students getting real world experience.
