Built by
Vandervecht Carpentry LTDFramed through the winter of 2020, this 6,000 square foot lakeside cottage was built in a true Northern Canadian craftsman style designed to handle harsh conditions while maintaining a warm, refined aesthetic. Set along the water’s edge, the structure combined traditional craftsman detailing with the strength of multiple integrated steel beams to support expansive spans and open interior layouts. Large window openings facing the lake required precise structural coordination, ensuring both load performance and clean sightlines throughout the home. Winter conditions added another layer of complexity. Careful planning and execution were critical to maintain schedule, protect materials, and deliver consistent quality despite the elements. Every stage of the framing was approached with durability in mind, from structural tie-ins to roof geometry designed for snow load and long term performance. The result is a solid, well executed build that blends rugged northern resilience with detailed craftsmanship a lakeside home built to perform and built to last.
