The Willam - House

This project started by literally lifting the entire house into the air so we could remove the existing basement slab and supports, excavate an additional two feet, and build a new monolithic insulated basement with gravel and insulation layered the right way—because shortcuts don’t age well. From there, we added a three-stop elevator, completed a full kitchen renovation, and reworked two bathrooms, while modifying and relocating the original servant stairs to the front of the house where they actually make sense. The basement now includes a full wine cellar, two bedrooms, utility room, media room, and walk-in closets, turning previously forgotten space into fully livable square footage. Upstairs, we restored historic interior details on the second and third floors following prior water damage, carefully tying old and new work together so the house feels cohesive, intentional, and appropriately historic—just with much better bones this time around.
