The Voice of OpenShop Construction Since 1990, Merit Ontario has supported the province’s open shop construction sector by championing fairness in Ontario’s construction industry. As a member-driven, mixed-trade association, we promote fairness, transparency, and opportunity across the industry. Our mission is to support contractors who believe in a merit-based path to success. What We Stand For We advocate for sound legislation and fair regulation. Our focus includes labour relations, apprenticeship training, worker’s compensation, and workplace safety. We believe that government contracts should go to the lowest qualified bidder. This approach encourages fiscal responsibility and fair competition.
